Pearson 424 Just Listed

The Pearson 424 was designed by William Shaw and built by Pearson Yachts in the USA between 1978 and 1984. Only about 225 were made. It's known as a strong, seaworthy offshore cruiser. It's heavy enough to be comfortable in rough seas, has a big beam for a roomy interior, and carries enough tankage to stay off the dock for long stretches. This one was built in 1980, rigged as a sloop.

Sirocco is in great condition, with many major components recently replaced. To list a few, the standing and running rigging have both been renewed. The mast has been re-stepped into the keel, the headsail is brand new, and the mainsail is only four years old and still in excellent shape. The spinnaker lives in a snuffer sock and has had very little use.

The steering system and autopilot were recently replaced. A new 350-litre fuel tank was fitted in November 2022. A bow thruster was installed in 2018, which makes getting in and out of berths on windy days a breeze. The tender was replaced with a 3.1m AB RIB with a 9.8 Tohatsu with very low hours.

Sirocco is an elegant classic. She was built solidly by Pearson and has been well-maintained throughout her life. She's been a much-loved liveaboard recently and has plenty of cruising miles behind her, so she's proven, sorted and ready for her next adventure.
