Designed by renowned naval architects Bruce Nelson and Bruce Marek and built by Catalina Yachts in the USA, the Catalina Morgan 45 Centre Cockpit is widely regarded as one of the great bluewater cruising yachts of its era. Purpose-built for comfortable long-distance voyaging, the design combines robust offshore capability with a spacious interior layout ideal for extended liveaboard cruising.

Launched in 1997, Maristo was imported to Australia and has since proven herself in some of the country's most challenging cruising grounds. Her cruising history includes multiple passages between Tasmania and Queensland, a circumnavigation of Tasmania, and extensive exploration of Bass Strait.

At 45ft (13.79m) with a 4.2m beam and 12-tonne displacement, she is a substantial offshore cruiser offering outstanding stability, comfort and capability.
Maristo features an exceptionally spacious and practical liveaboard layout. The full-beam aft owner's cabin includes a queen-size innerspring mattress, dressing table, seating area and ensuite with a recently installed electric toilet, shower and vanity.

Forward accommodation provides a comfortable V-berth with new mattress and ample storage. A second head with hot and cold shower serves guests and crew. The bright saloon offers seating to both port and starboard around a central dining table.

The generous galley includes a three-burner Princess stove and oven, microwave, double sinks, refrigerator (new 2019), Danfoss freezer, wine cupboard and excellent storage throughout. Teak cabinetry, teak-and-holly flooring, new soft furnishings (2025) and excellent ventilation complete the comfortable interior.
The secure centre cockpit provides excellent visibility and protection, enhanced by a full cockpit enclosure. Her cruising inventory includes furling genoa, furling staysail, mainsail with three reefing points, lazy jacks, new boom bag (2026) and an asymmetrical spinnaker.

The yacht benefits from professionally installed Dyneema rigging fitted in 2018, with all running rigging replaced at the same time. Deck equipment includes a Muir anchor winch, approximately 80 metres of chain, electric cockpit winch, self-tailing winches, extensive covers and optional Monitor windvane steering.
Powered by a reliable 50hp Yanmar diesel with approximately 2,600 hours, Maristo cruises comfortably at 6.5-7 knots and reaches around 8 knots maximum while consuming only 3-4 litres per hour.

Systems include 650 litres of water capacity, a 110-litre-per-hour watermaker (2020), solar panels, wind generator, shore power, AIS, Raymarine navigation equipment, radar, autopilot, HF and VHF radios, diesel heating and comprehensive offshore safety equipment.
Maristo is a proven offshore cruising yacht with an impressive Australian cruising history, extensive upgrades and exceptional liveaboard comfort. Major investments in rigging, renewable energy, watermaker, heating and furnishings mean she is ready for immediate cruising.

Combining offshore capability, spacious accommodation and a comprehensive inventory, Maristo presents a rare opportunity to acquire a well-maintained bluewater cruiser capable of taking her next owners anywhere with confidence and comfort.
