A true icon of the "British way of sailing, " Snowgoose boats are no longer manufactured but regularly
appear on the used market. The freeboard is moderate, the wide roof maintains a fairly smooth profile, and
the draft is shallow, as is the resulting height of the cockpit. A streamlined bow--a sort of third central
hull--stiffens the bottom and cushions the impact of waves. The lack of cabin headroom isn't the boat's
strong suit, but if you can accept that, you'll love everything else: shallow draft, moderate beam allowing
navigation on inland waterways, surprising livability, remarkable build quality, and a fairly low center of
gravity that contributes to the boat's reassuring stability.
This particular boat underwent a refit in 2021-2022, featuring one major modification: the replacement of
the central lift-out engine with two new 21-chevaux NANNI Saildrive engines, along with an increase in fuel
tank capacity.
The current owner has continued to upgrade the boat since its refit, replacing the standing and running
rigging in 2022, installing state-of-the-art electronics in 2023, adding solar panels in 2025, and installing a
