Refitted Lagoon 380 in French Polynesia -- Genuinely Ready to Sail

Pepe Tai is a solid, safe Lagoon 380 built in 2001, owner version. We bought her three years ago and have since sailed 2,500 nautical miles around French Polynesia. We have renewed a large proportion of the systems on board and added everything needed for fast, comfortable and safe shorthanded cruising.

I deliberately use the words "genuinely ready to sail" to distinguish Pepe Tai from boats that may have been ready to sail at some point in the past but no longer are, and from boats advertised as "ready to sail" that will turn your cruising plans into a succession of bad surprises and serious problems to solve.

Pepe Tai is structurally sound, carefully maintained, and ready to keep cruising.

The boat currently has a berth at Vaiare Marina in Moorea. She is fully customs-cleared in Papeete and may remain indefinitely in French Polynesian waters.

Equipment renewed or replaced:

Standing rigging: diamond stays replaced in 2022, shrouds in 2024, forestay in 2025 and genoa furler in 2025.

Running rigging: progressively replaced in full since 2023.

Sails: 55 m² mainsail (2023), 110 m² Parasailor spinnaker (2023), professionally serviced genoa (2026) and lazy bag (2024).

Trampoline: replaced in 2023.

Deck hardware: all deck cleats replaced in 2024, genoa cars and rollers in 2025, and mainsheet blocks in 2024.

Deck and portlights: no leaks. Six portlights replaced between 2023 and 2026.

Ground tackle: Spade anchor (2025) and 55 meters of high-quality galvanized chain (2026).

Cockpit: rigid hardtop bimini (2024), rigid windscreen (2025), and rain and spray enclosures (2025). The cockpit stays dry at anchor and remains dry under sail in most conditions. All interior and exterior upholstery was professionally renewed in 2024.

Electronics: the entire navigation electronics system was replaced in 2024-2025, including wind, direction, speed and depth sensors, NMEA cabling and Raymarine displays.

Autopilot: completely replaced between 2024 and 2026, including the electric linear drive, ACU, sensors and Raymarine control display.

Engines: two Yanmar 3YM30 diesel engines with fewer than 900 hours, coupled to SD25 saildrives and professionally serviced every year.

Propellers: two Gori three-blade folding propellers. They add approximately 0.5 to 1 knot under sail, provide excellent fuel economy under power, and have enough bite to make headway against a seven-knot current. You will thank them regularly for that in atolls.

Electrical generation: 800 W of solar power--400 W existing plus another 400 W added in 2024--and a 400 W wind turbine installed in 2025.

Dinghy: 2.30 m aluminium RIB (2025) with a 9.9 hp Mercury outboard (2024), serviced annually by the dealer.

Watermaker: 12 V, 20 litres per hour, replaced in 2025. Its output is lower than that of a large watermaker, but it runs directly from the 12 V system and uses only a fraction of the boat's solar production. No generator is required.

Air conditioning: water-cooled 12 V air-conditioning system installed in the owner's cabin. Excellent for drying out the cabin and for cool afternoon naps.

Heads: direct-discharge marine toilet in the starboard hull and a Nature's Head composting toilet in the port hull. The composting toilet provides long-term autonomy without polluting anchorages and is approved by local authorities. Those who have only experienced conventional black-water holding tanks are usually quickly converted to composting!

Optional equipment:
Kayak, kitesurfing and wingfoil equipment.

Please contact me with any questions. We would be pleased to welcome serious buyers aboard for a real sea trial, or to present the boat through a detailed live video tour for those unable to visit in person!
