Designed by Col Clifford (Compucraft) and built by Shipwright Charles Drew in Beechmere. This was his 15th boat and he built it for himself. Catnap is very spacious for her length, a solid well built catamaran. Excellent Liveaboard. Strip plank cedar, epoxy dipped and glassed over - the hulls, the decks and even the coach house. Catnap has taken us many miles up and down Qld coast and offshore to Pacific islands and through Asia. 4 double berth cabin layout. 2 singles - one in each forward cabin (we use them for storage but have had kids sleep in them). Centreboards & kick up rudders for getting into the shallows and up and over into lagoons. Boarding ladder making it easy to get on/off when beached. Very spacious & well ventilated saloon and cockpit areas. 198cm headroom in saloon & cockpit - 180 in hulls. Recent out of water survey completed (see attached) when antifouled and new transuducer fitted at the end of June 2025. Current rigging inspection - available on request. 4 Bomar hatches replaced - 2 cabin, galley & head hatches within 12 months. Gebo portholes along sides- galley & head portholes replaced May 2025. Remarks
As full time liveaboards for 18 years Catnap has taken us up and down the East coast - Torres Strait to Sydney. Bluewater sailing - pacific islands & Asia. (old Blog attached). The simplicity of this vessel makes her great for remote cruising - and the kick up rudders and dagger boards make it easy to glide into the shallows or over reef into lagoons. As we are moving onto land - plenty of spares and extras to come with the vessel. Receipts & manuals for items under warranty or for verification of age. About $12,500 spent 2025 on upkeep so Catnap presents beautifully and is ready for you to step onboard and sail away. Had a couple of months off Catnap - have returned to finish off a couple more jobs - then more photos to come. Currently In Airlie - will likely sail further south end of November for cyclone season. In and out of phone/internet range as stil cruising. If you are new to sailing we are happy to share some pointers. May be able to assist with relocation if required. Reluctant sale but after almost 20 years as sea gypsies its time for something different.
