Proven Ocean Cruiser | Extensive Upgrades 2023-2026 |
She is a modified Crowther Windspeed 39 with a long history as a reliable cruising boat, which can be sailed easily solo or two-up, but can accommodate more, with two queen size, one double and two single berths if required. We have lived aboard full time for the past 3 years and have found her a comfortable, practical, seaworthy boat. She sails fast(20kt), tracks well upwind and is super stable. She was built strong, using state of the art vacuum bagging sandwich techniques, using epoxy resin, glass and Kevlar.
In the 3 years we have owned her, we have replaced the Standing Rigging, Sails, batteries (400Ah Lithium), Radio, Instruments, Battery Chargers and regulators, Solar Panels and much more(full list below)
Trade Runner is fully self sufficient, we don't have a genset and have never needed one even while living on Anchor for the majority of the last 3 years.
Since buying her we've sailed from Eden-Sydney-Thursday Island-Darwin-Lombok-5000nm around east Indonesia-Darwin and now in Gove
Sailing Learning By Doing is our YouTube channel where we have documented all the upgrades and adventures.
Trade Runner is designed to sail well. She has dagger boards for upwind performance and easy tacking and clever cassette mounted lifting rudders to reduce the draft when necessary. She also has a rotating mast and articulating bowsprit.
She comes with a 2023 UL3.1m Highfield Hypalon tender with 15hp Yamaha and is Australian Registered. Motors are Nanni 21HP Diesels (1600hrs)
The topopsides need painting and this will be completed in September if the boat hasn't sold by then. If someone with DIY skills wanted to complete the painting themselves then I would reduce the price accordingly.
The boat is ready to sail anywhere, included in the sale are safety and wet weather gear, heaps of spare parts, tools, ropes, 2 spare anchors, SUP, 2 spare sails etc etc.
I could deliver the boat anywhere and offer training to a new owner.
