The Fastback has a solid quality fibreglass build, is an easy to handle, light displacement vessel which is responsive under sail and economical under engine power. Fastback catamarans were designed by John Gross and built under his guidance in his Brisbane based factory. They are well reputed as capable, responsive and enjoyable sailing vessels that incorporate unique features and functionality to maximise your cruising experience. Propulsion is from a centre mounted inboard Yanmar 3YM diesel (30 hp) engine with a hydraulic drop down leg with very recent fully reconditioned gearbox & leg drive unit. Both the engine and drive are centrally mounted well above the waterline and when raised the leg is out of the water (reducing drag when under sail and corrosion/electrolysis when not in use). Headsail sheets and winches are trimmed from inside the saloon area. Steering is via 2 hull hung fiberglass spade rudders. There is a single daggerboard on starboard hull. The vessel is a 6 berth configuration with 2 double berths in the port hull (1 currently converted to a galley dinette see pic) and 1 master cabin starboard aft. There is a head starboard forward with an electric toilet and shower in a roomy bathroom. A galley is located at midships in the port hull complete with a 2 burner gas stove and double stainless steel sink. A settee is located between the hulls on the bridge deck. The bridge deck cabin has a slide back roof and excellent all round views while sailing or relaxing and can be fully opened to the cockpit area which includes a 4 person dining table. Firm on price. SLIPPING BRISBANE END OF AUGUST WITH OUT OF WATER INSPECTION POSSIBLE BY ARRANGEMENT.
