S/V Blue Iris is a 2019 Lagoon 40 catamaran, currently located in the BVI after five years in charter service, excluding two pandemic years. She has been regularly maintained with annual haul-outs and bottom paint, and is priced competitively in the BVI.

The Lagoon 40 is designed for enhanced performance. It features a larger sail plan than other Lagoon models, ensuring a better sail surface/displacement ratio, making it a fast and seaworthy boat. The mast is positioned further aft, a decision based on VPLP's racing experience, providing numerous advantages. The self-tacking jib and shorter boom facilitate ease of handling. The large foretriangle allows for a greater choice of foresails and a high-aspect mainsail, enabling the use of less disturbed air higher up. The new aft cockpit layout, similar to that of the 42, combines space and comfort, with a dining table that accommodates up to twelve guests and a relaxation area. The ergonomic helm station can be accessed from the cockpit or the deck, ensuring continuous communication between the helmsman and crew. The wide skirts and large platform enhance enjoyment of the sea and facilitate access to the dinghy.
