REASONS WHY I LOVE THIS CAT... !!!
I first met this beautiful Cat as it departed the Nautitech factory in La Rochelle, France as a new build. Joining me, her excited owners over from Adelaide whom I had sold the boat to a year earlier at the Sydney Boat Show. They did a terrific job of adding refrigeration, solar, and extra sails amongst other things before I waved them off as they left to explore the wonderful Mediterranean Sea. After 2 years of cruising I met up with her again over in Grenada following a successful crossing in the Arc Rally. A change in circumstances led to her changing hands and I had the pleasure of sailing her up through the islands of the Caribbean to Miami where she was delivered to her new owners eager to continue on with her upgrades and the cruising. Currently lying in the beautiful waters of Chile, South America she is now being offered for sale once more and is perfectly positioned to cruise the Pacific as part of her next adventure.
Those that are familiar with the French built Nautitech Open 40 will know that she is one of the best all round Sailing Catamarans of this size in production today. List all your requirements in a spreadsheet and the Open 40 will rate highly in every criteria. She offers excellent performance down wind, upwind she points well thanks to her lightweight construction and fine entry hulls - with the added conveinence of mini keels. Above the waterline the hull steps out to offer a comfortable interior that's suitable for extended passage making without compromising on performance, allowing her to cross oceans safely in a timely fashion. For those that love to sail, you will love the helm position. LOOK at the view - with a quick glance from the one position you can see your sails, see the horizon, importantly see whats in front of you unlike roof top helms where you are staring at a sail at least half the time. And the helm features cable steering (not hydraulic) for an instantaneous reponse to the skippers touch as you adjust easily to shifting breezes and rolling swells.
As a result of constant love and improvements, it is hard to imagine a better Open 40 Owners Version on the market today. Just look at this list of inclusions on SV Zambezi:
* 8x 150watt flexible solar panels, 4x rigid panels 160watts each 1200watts + 640watts totaling 1,840 Watts.
