S/V Byjingo - Outremer 45 (Danson Design)
Hull #23 of only 50 ever built, Byjingo is a rare and highly regarded 45ft Outremer launched in 2003 and fully imported to Australia. Renowned for their strength, speed, and seaworthiness, the Outremer 45s are true bluewater performance catamarans--crafted for sailors who value both adventure and liveaboard comfort.

Experienced international cruisers, we purchased Byjingo in Brisbane in 2022 and have since undertaken a significant refit to prepare her for extended offshore cruising. Most standing rigging was replaced by Phillips Racing P/L in 2020, with the mast tuned and re-seated. The trampolines and sail track were replaced in 2022, followed by a major 2024 upgrade including a new forward beam, bowsprit, and seagull striker. Her solid fibreglass hulls with daggerboards deliver superb upwind ability and stability, while twin Yanmar 29HP engines with 3-blade Flexofold props and hydraulic steering provide reliable and efficient handling. Byjingo comfortably cruises at 9 knots and has recorded top speeds of 18 knots.

Below deck, the interior offers generous volume and practical storage--ideal for extended liveaboard life. The galley includes a 3-burner Eno stove (new 2022), oven, refrigerator, and Engel 12/240V freezer, along with freshwater and saltwater taps and a Spectra Santa Cruz 39L/hr watermaker. Electronics include a B&G touchscreen chartplotter, autopilot, Raymarine tri-data (wind, depth, speed), and VESPA AIS for safe and confident navigation offshore. Safety gear is comprehensive: life raft, drogue, EPIRB, lifejackets, SOS Dan Buoy, and full deck lighting.

Energy independence is assured through 320W solar panels, Air X wind turbine, 800W inverter, AGM batteries, and 80A engine alternators. The cockpit has been upgraded in 2025 with new upholstered cushions, a new sail bag, new liferaft cover, new UV strip on the headsail, and a bimini offering over six feet of headroom--providing both comfort and practicality at sea or at anchor.

Proven offshore in her passage from Brisbane to Adelaide via Bass Strait, Byjingo is a fast, stable, and dependable yacht--ready for her next ocean adventure. This is a genuine sailor's catamaran: built for performance, equipped for bluewater cruising, and refined for comfortable liveaboard living.
