My brother and I made one last ditch effort to kick the old girl into shape and sail her home to W. A.
But due to cyclone Alfred and then that big bloody east coast low, we only made it to Jervis Bay!
THE MISSUS HAS PUT HER FOOT DOWN AND SAID IT HAS TO GO!
Besides the fact I couldn't make another attempt until February next year. She deserves better than to sit neglected...... AGAIN for 7 months so come take a look and make an offer. She needs work and some $ injected, mainly windows, but we did just do 700NM down the coast in crap weather so you can get her home OK.
I will be in Jervis Bay from the 10th to the 15th of June if you want to take a look.
WINDOWS! They need doing the most,
Then there are other smaller jobs.
New starter relay on one engine.
Leaks in fresh water hoses. One at galley sink and one at rear deck shower I think.
Hatch seal rubbers
Re- Tourqe the sail drive seals,
Start swapping out sheets and halyards
And the wiring. It needs all the old redundant crap removed and everything else tidied up. If I got it home I was also going to splash for new engine control panels/ wiring and all new hoses. There is a small leak in the hydrolic steering. 50ml in 3 months use, but it annoys me!
Production built Robin Chamberlain designed Parallax 11 up for sale!
Quality built by Ostac, of Farrier trimaran fame, this Australian designed Catamaran was constructed using ground breaking methods for the time. Vacuume bagged Bi-axial, Tri-axial cloth over foam core with vinalester resin means that there is ZERO osmosis in this clasic little cat.
She comes with a current insurance survey (18 months) that will be available to any genuine buyers upon inspection.
It is an older boat that still needs some love but is totally sailable now. We orignally intended to bring her back to Western Australia, do her up and cruise the Kimberly coast in 2025.
Unforseen family circumstances have forced us to forgo our dream and head back early.
We had a fabulous time in her this season on the Coral Coast and started making inroads to her referbishment with the following:
New matressess to all 3 cabins.
2 new 200AH lithium batteries.
1500w inverter.
40 inch smart TV
Full service to both engines.
Spare anchor with 30m quality chain and 40m brand new nylon 16mm rode.
The rigging was replaced in 2017 so still a few years before it needs inspection.
This is a great opportunity to get into a decent coastal cruising cat at an affordable price. She is comfortable, well sorted, well built and well behaved. We dealt with a 42kt squall off the coast of K'Gari and never felt unsafe.
