FOR SALE: PRIVILEGE 43 CATAMARAN - "AKULA" (1991)
Built by Jeantot Marine. Proven Offshore. Ready to Go.
Now listed with Seaspray Yacht Sales.
"Akula" has pedigree you can't fake. Built in 1991 by Jeantot Marine, she's crossed the Atlantic and Pacific and now sits in Southeast Asia - about as good a base as you could ask for. The current owners have set her up for extended remote cruising with self-sufficiency as the priority. Spare parts and tools are on board to keep the systems running.
Five-cabin layout, though two are currently used for storage and can easily be converted back. The remaining three cabins are all double-sized with ample storage. Forward cabins have ensuite bathrooms - one electric toilet, one compostable. An additional bathroom is in the starboard hull.
Large, well-designed galley in the port hull with ample bench space, double sinks, gas cooktop and oven, and plenty of storage. Watermaker keeps you topped up, plus a saltwater tap and new BBQ outside.
Central salon with wrap-around seating, under-seat fridge, and a good-sized table. Chart table with nav instruments and control panels alongside.
Aft cockpit with wrap-around seating, large drop-leaf table, fibreglass hardtop, and removable sunshades. Diesel generator and large solar array for energy independence.
All primary sailing controls located in the cockpit. Helm station with large MFD, instruments, and anchor windlass control - easily sailed short- or single-handed.
Dyneema rigging and lifelines. Sail wardrobe covers a good range of conditions. Twin Yanmar diesels on shafts.
"Akula" isn't a shiny marina queen. She's a proven offshore cat with good bones, sensible systems, and a layout that works for real cruising. Ready to go - not a project.
