The Adams 10 is an outstanding boat to race and cruise. The design was conceived as a one design yacht suitable for harbour and ocean racing as well as family cruising. Perfect for a first time yacht owner or for someone stepping up to a larger, faster yacht.
'Blackjack' is this cruising version of the Adams 10 fantastic for both racing and cruising, with adequate headroom below while maintaining a good deck layout and cockpit space with all the speed of the flush deck model with the comfort to cruise. Easily driven, and with low sheet and halyard loads it means ropes and running gear rarely fail. Also, this is the perfect racer where you can race fully crewed with either 6 or 7, or shorthanded with as few as two.
As you step onto the deck of 'Blackjack' into the spacious cockpit you are presented with the well maintained deck layout of running gear. To the stern is the tiller with an extension pole aft of the traveller track, with an added bonus of a near-new Raymarine tiller pilot. In the cockpit you will find storage aplenty including an anchor locker on the stern.
As you head down two steps into the main cabin onto well maintained polished timber flooring you will find the kitchenette with a fresh water hand pump to the sink, generous bench space and storage on the port side. On the starboard side there is a considerable sized ice box and uncomplicated and well labelled control panel. Aft, there are 2 quarter berths in a pleasant grey fabric finish with storage. Back in the main cabin there are 2 nice size settees in the pleasant grey fabric that can easily seat 6 or be used as 2 single beds. Underneath and behind the settees is storage with more storage surrounding the cabin. Moving forward is a spacious bathroom with a vertical manual pump toilet and single hand basin with fresh water, the floor is maintained timber with cork walls. Forward is the 'V' berth with a grey fabic mattress and wall surrounds.
Under the stairs for easy access, you will find the 10hp Volvo Penta engine in good condition with a cruising speed of 4-5 knots and a fuel comsumption of 2L per hour.
'Blackjack' is a lovely example of a classic Adams 10 and is a very exciting boat that deserves to be sailed whether you're a seasoned racer or a weekend sailor, this yacht is ready to deliver an exceptional experience on the water.
