Flinders Chase is a 1998 aft cockpit steel Adams 45. This a capable blue water cruising yacht with plenty of space for the family or a group of friends with three cabins and a spacious saloon. Up forward is a large V- berth with ample storage, followed by a settee, which is long enough to be used as and extra bed if needed. On the port side is a spacious head/ shower and laundry room or wet area with a small twin tub washing machine. The saloon area is large enough to easily sit 6 people around the table, making entertaining easy with a large galley providing enough room to store plenty of food for long trips away. The two aft cabins sit under the cockpit and with a double bed in each they make perfect rooms for guests or kids, one has a large storage cupboard and the other a seat with storage below.
The engine in Flinders Chase is Perkins 4.236 80hp, allowing you to motor around easily at 6kts. This is also a lovely boat to sail with a fully battened mainsail equipped with a ball bearing car system and two Furlex roller furler headsails she is easy to sail short handed and will sail 6-8 kts quite comfortably. To make voyaging easy she is also equipped with a full complement of Raymarine Nav gear, including an Axiom Chartplotter, transducer, auto pilot and radar. The electrical system onboard is all 12V, using a 1200W Victron Inverter Charger for 240V and Victron solar charger and battery monitor to charge and manage the battery and solar array onboard. To make life on board comfortable we added a marine hot water system which can make hot water via 12V (through the exsess solar and batteries), 240V (generator/ shore power) or through the engine giving you options for hot water.
Flinders Chase has been our home for the last two years and during that time we have completed many upgrades to her systems and have completed some renovations below decks, which is still ongoing. When we bought her she had a very basic rudimentary fit out, but during our time we completed a full refit to the V- berth, single settee area, laundry/ wet room and starboard aft cabin. Generally our renovations included new cabinetry, replacing insulation in hull and ceiling panels as necessary and a fresh coat of paint as required.
Flinders Chase is a very sea worthy vessel with Australian Ship Registration, prior to us she has completed many world ocean going voyages and we had intended to do the same with her and were preparing her for her next big ocean adventure. However due to a change in family and circumstances we have unfortunately decided to sell her.
