The Koonya design by Alan Payne are renowned for their sea keeping abilities. The are a fast sail boat and fit well into the cateragory of world cruiser. The clever design of the cut away fore foot reduces drag while maintaining great handling and a tight turn radius. No spade rudder that can be broken off at sea or by debris. The prop is protected and enclosed. This lessons the chance of Mooring lines, fishing nets getting wrapped around it. The boat can be carrened against poles and she won't fall on her nose. The course keeping is outstanding this boat I'm reluctantly selling has sailed down waves crossing the gulf at times reaching 14 knots with no sign of broaching.

Remarks
This is a reluctant sale. I've had this boat since 2007. She has looked after me and I her in return. She has been through cyclone's and seas that you could not imagine the magnitude. Always keeping me safe and dry. I have crashed into things, other boats have crashed into her. She has been sandwiched between 2 other boats adrift until rescued They broke their moorings. I have ran aground laid her over she always comes back up never any damage. Steel is so strong I guess that's why theymake man of wars out of it. This is truly a great boat for extended cruising and a circumnavigation. I'm to old not flexible balance not so good. I would like her to go to a new home and someone who would care for her and above cross oceans. Did I mention she has an Aries windvane... Also 2 st2000 plus electric auto pilots
