Here i have a peice of Tasmanian wooden boat history, very well know in Tasmania,
Tamima was built by Dave O'may in bellerive, Hobart, and launched in 1930. She is 30ft canoe stern variation of D W Bailey's 1927 27ft transom design Albatross.
She has beautiful lines and sails like a charm. And a very soild boat.
I can email documents with more on her History if intrested.
She's on the tasmanian Register of historic vessels. And there is a model of her in the marinetime museum in hobart made by Dave O'May (photo of it in add)
I'm looking for a new custodian for her, she came into my hands in a state of disrepair, and i had to pull her out of the water for a few months due to very bad leaks, had 6 keel bolts replaced and alot of the hull planks refixed and recauked, the hull is now pretty sound, but is due for a haul out to clean/paint.
she is in need of work done, needs the decks fixing/replacing to keep the water out, and some repairs to be done to the cabin top and sides,
Has a Yanmar 3gm30 in her, needs some TLC. But runs and functions.
has a near new Rockna Anchor, and 30m of chain.
Comes with a heap of spares and bronze fittings the previous owner had collected to use to restore her.
Very bare bones down below, companion way, seats and engine box. Have parts that came out of her.
Due to personal circumstances i can't give her the attention she needs/deserves,
I'd love her to go to someone with the time and resources to bring her back to her former glory and peserve a bit of Tasmanian history,
SHE DOES NEED WORK. She's not a just buy and use boat, but is still in a condition to sail, call me for more information
open to offers and feel free to contact be for more information. Or to arrange having a look at her.
