SV Putzel
I've been renovating Putzel for the last 9 years, but have had a bunch of health problems which have put an end to my sailing. She is still a work-in-progress, but in pretty good shape. The rigging was replaced 9 years ago.
She's in a berth at the Wynnum Manly Yacht Club, but also has a 3-axle galvanised launch trolley, waiting for the day we can get a hard stand.
She has a raised cabin roof so you can stand up inside, and a hydraulic centreboard lift that is operated from the cockpit.
There is both Electric propulsion (Haswing 2KW outboard/24V 100AH LiFePo4 batteries and remote throttle) and petrol (Tohatsu SailPro 6 with high thrust propeller and alternator to charge batteries), also set up for solar panels and a 20A 24v LiFePo4 battery charger. She's also set up for charging the batteries from solar panels, but only one is fitted at the moment.
She has a GPS, EPIRB, autiopilot with remote control (not fitted yet), and tiller/autipilot linkage to the outboard for better maneuverability.
The cabin floor is carpeted, has new seat cushions/bunks and a 10mm thick polycarbonate table on the centreboard case. There's a vintage hand bearing compass if you like old-fashioned coastal navigation.
I haven't finished the PottaPotti surrounds yet (haven't had the opportunity)
She's a lovely little boat, big enough for a family of four to live on for a few days, and can handle fairly fierce weather.
The self-furling jib is old but still quite useable and the mainsail is fairly new with a decent sail cover and boom tent.
She passed a full marine survey in 2023.
