Tiger Lily is an Australian registered boat with the added bonus of being in Fiji with taxes fully paid, therefore there is no need to depart Fiji every 2 years for permit reset. The hard work of 2 weeks upwind sailing from Australia has already been done. If you choose to cruise the Pacific, she can stay in Fiji and be ready for you. Just fly in to Nadi International airport, and take a 15 min taxi ride to Vuda Marina where she resides, then off to cruise the beautiful Islands of Fiji, arguably the best cruising location in the world. There is the added bonus of great access to the South Pacific and Micronesia. She is blue ocean-ready and crossed the Pacific from Australia in 11 days in 2022. Therefore she is also ready to be sailed to Australia, NZ, or beyond. Relocation to East Coast of Australia is also negotiable.
Tiger Lily has been fastidiously maintained and upgraded by her 3 fussy owners. From launch in mid 2006, Tiger Lily was kept in Sydney Harbour, providing accommodation and a base for her owner. After many years of asking, in 2018 she was finally sold to Bill, who wanted THIS boat for cruising the Australian coast. Over $60000 was spent to ensure everything was just right; new standing and running rigging, new autostream feathering prop, new tender and outboard, new headsail for offshore and much, much more.
Finding the "right" boat is tough. For us, it was make a shortlist of boats with fit out and features, important to Wendy, and the shorten the list on based sailing performance. With that shortlist, we then looked for overall condition, desiring a boat that we could step onto and just go.
We acquired Tiger Lily in 2021, and cruised Qld for that year before moving to Fiji for a long term work assignment. Not willing to part with the boat we had looked so long for, she was further upgraded for ocean passage making. Life raft, new furler, inner forestay and storm sail, davits, substantial solar array and much more.
Tiger Lily proved her capability on that passage, racing the growing storm of Cylone Gina, comfortably handling 40kn wind with 4m seas, steering the entire passage on auto pilot and recording a 150nm daily average for the 11 day passage.
My assignment in Fiji has now finished, and the new job is in Vanuatu. Sadly there is no adequate cyclone season storage or berthing available there, so we have decided to put Tiger Lily on the market. Make no mistake, this boat is ready to go, it is only the life location change that has forced our decision to sell. We have immensely enjoyed cruising this very capable and comfortable boat. A great opportunity for the lucky purchaser!
This is a very sound capable cruising boat in enviable condition.
