'Solace' is a beautiful 36ft Carvel planked canoe stern Bermudan ketch designed by Capt W. D. Bailey and professionally built by R. T. Searles and son in Birkenhead SA. Launched in 1939 built originally for Dr. Joseph Stanley Verco purchased by the current owners over 30 years ago and cruised extensively ever since. This beautifully crafted piece of furniture has an incredible record the current owners have not only participated in numerous wooden boat festivals in Tasmania they have also sailed around Australia spending an extended period in the Kimberley's. Many of the crew who have loved, looked after and sailed on her are available and very knowledgeable in the history and up keep of this boat. 'Solace' is presenting in immaculate condition insides and out she is clean, dry and with the covers to protect the bright work it presents very well. Age is only a number this stunning Carvel yacht has many years of sailing left in her and I cant wait to see what her new adventure is going to be.
