For sale again. Recently purchased, hthe vendor unfortunately has to deal with family health issues. Rather than let this superb Catalina 27 lay around unused the decision is to reluctantly sell her. A January 2026 pre-purchase can be viewed during inspection and can be made available to the new buyer.
Purchased by the previous owner back in 2018, he committed six years to fully restoring and upgrading the entire vessel. This included a complete engine removal and full service, new engine mounts, new electrical rewiring, refurbishing and upgrading the spars, standing and running rigging, and.... We could go on but it might be easier to go to http://www. Youtube. Com/@Catalina27 (and click on 'videos') to get the full picture of the extensive work done.
For those unfamiliar with the Catalina 27, the design was so popular that over 6,600 were produced in both Canada and the USA between 1971 and 1991.
On completion this USA built example was named renamed 'Epoxy Circus' given an antifoul and new sails, and in March 2025 set sail from California to sail SOLO across the Pacific via The Marquesas, Tahiti, and Fiji to Australia; effectively silencing the armchair critics and keyboard warriors who might doubt the Catalina 27's capabilities. Now berthed in Manly harbour in Qld, she is fully imported into Australia presenting in exceptional condition for her age and the rigours of her recent journey. She would suit anyone from the novice looking for an easily handled yacht or experienced sailor looking for a more compact sailing experience, who want a ready-to-sail-away vessel.
Please contact Australiawide Boat Sales to arrange an inspection. Epoxy Circus is a rare example of what a superbly maintained vessel should look like and is very much a 'Broker Recommended Boat'.
