"Trim" is a well maintained 1990 Laurie Davidson designed Cavalier 30. This yacht is ideal for weekend Club racing or cruising in comfort. The solid fibreglass hull shape provides good buoyancy with a ballast ratio of approximately 40%, the boat tracks well to windward and handles in a predictable manner.
Sailing is enjoyable in all weather in this boat, protected by bimini and dodger; keep your food and drinks cold in the efficient refrigerator and at the end of the day relax in the cockpit or below in the comfort of the saloon.
This yacht sails well on all points of sail and with a fin lead keel drawing 1.8m Trim settles into a comfortable sailing rhythm. When the wind picks up the boat puts her shoulder down and pushes comfortably on through the swell.
The yacht has a balanced rudder and with a tall fractional rig and large mainsail which points well to windward. All reefing lines lead back to the cockpit. The main sail has 2 reefing points and the head sail can be easily furled with the Profurl furler. See list of sails that come with Trim.
The cockpit is well protected with Spray dodger, Bimini and side covers giving crew good protection from the weather.
There is a walk-through transom and deep swim ladder for easy access to the water and for boarding a dingy. See detail of Zodiac and Mercury Outboard.
Below decks: Trim has a comfortable saloon with full headroom, a dinette table to port and comfortable seating to port and starboard. There is an overhead opening port in main cabin and 3 other smaller opening port windows. The galley is to starboard with 2 burner MAXI gimballed metho stove, galley sink with pressure cold water and ample storage cupboards.
A LP Gas Magma Bar-B-Que mounted on cockpit stern rail & comes with stainless steel gas tank.
The 16hp Yanmah diesel with shaft driven folding propeller pushes the yacht along at about 5 knots. The fin keel and deep fin rudder enable the yacht to turn in a tight circle, virtually in its own boat length.
The diesel engine has been well maintained with oil and filter changes every 100 hrs. As listed below recent work includes new head gasket with new valve stems, all work done by a marine mechanic.

Remarks
'Trim' is a pleasure to sail with a fin bolt on lead keel, with stainless steel keel bolts, a spade hung rudder and protected folding propeller. She sails well on all points of sail and in heavier weather is sure footed, healing is limited as the boat 'settles into the grove' and confidently pushes on. Reefing sails is easy with furling headsail and reefing lines lead back to the cockpit.
The cockpit is well protected with Spray dodger, Bimini and side covers giving crew good protection from the weather.
With a walk-through trsom and deep swim ladder you have easy access to the water and for boarding a dingy.
Maintenance Log Book and Notes on "Operating Systems" for Trim are kept on board.
