Challenger 39 Pilothouse Sailing Yacht
Dual helmed, Australian (AMSA) registered cruising yacht with NEW engine, less than 50 hours.
Kyeemah was built to order for the Challenger sales representative in 1989, with a custom twin spreader rig. She is an excellent example of these sought-after pilothouse cruisers designed and built in Australia by Nick Louis. When you're sailing her, you get to enjoy exceptional visibility plus the safety and comfort features that make cruising a reality. She has a gentle nature under sail and is easily managed short handed with most lines leading aft. We have had a lot of fun sailing and exploring with Kyeemah, but a change in our lifestyle means it's time for us to find her a new family of sailors and adventurers. This is a regretful sale and we are genuinely looking for someone who will love and care for her!
Kyeemah has a 2-berth layout plus a convertible double bed in the saloon. She is clean, light and airy inside with the generous headroom you'd expect in a true pilothouse - enough for our 6'3" skipper to move around below decks without banging his head!
This boat is well equipped for proper cruising with full height solid stainless safety rails, abundant solar power, hot water, loads of storage, autohelm, GPS, filtered drinking water, a 2-bay galley fridge and an additional fridge/freezer in the saloon. The galley is well designed for safety underway. The interior helm is a rare luxury these days, and an absolute pleasure when the weather is disagreeable.
Kyeemah has lots of extras which make living aboard and cruising easy. These include a suite of shade covers, a separate toilet and shower, conventional plus electronic ultrasonic antifouling (yes, it absolutely works!), quick-release davits for the tender and a separate crane to manoeuvre the tender outboard.
She is comprehensively insured and berthed full time in a cyclone-rated marina. We have never raced her.
