Over the past 17 years, this Compass 38 has proven herself to be a capable, comfortable and dependable cruising yacht. Initially based in Geelong, she completed a series of increasingly ambitious voyages, including a month exploring the Gippsland Lakes in 2012, followed by a two-month cruise to Hobart and Tasmania's spectacular east coast in 2013. Subsequent seasons saw cruises to Deal Island, the islands of north-east Tasmania, Flinders Island, and northern Tasmania, including visits to Launceston and many of Bass Strait's most memorable cruising destinations. In 2021 she departed Geelong on a four-year partial circumnavigation of Australia's coastline. The voyage followed the east coast to Queensland, continued west across the Top End to Darwin and the Kimberley region, before recrossing northern Australia and arriving at her current berth in Scarborough in November 2025. This remarkable cruising history is a testament to the yacht's seaworthiness, reliability and comfort, offering her next owners a proven cruiser ready for new adventures

Accommodation
The accommodation is practical and well suited to comfortable cruising, with a bright, airy interior finished in white laminate with teak and iroko trim, solid iroko flooring, and a removable laminated ply headliner. The forward cabin features a twin V-berth with generous storage beneath and excellent ventilation via an opening hatch. The saloon seats four around the dinette, while a generous port quarter berth provides additional sleeping space for an adult or two children. The well-equipped galley includes a stainless steel sink with manual and pressure water, an insulated fridge, and a two-burner gas stove with oven, complemented by extensive storage throughout the boat. Opposite, the chart table doubles as extra bench space and offers ample drawer storage. The private head comes with electric macerator toilet with holding tank, sink, flexible shower hose, and good ventilation. Storage is ample throughout, with multiple lockers, hanging wardrobes for wet and dry gear, and a dedicated starboard quarter storage area for sails and lines that also provides excellent engine access.

Remarks
As you can see in the above inventory, the yacht has been sailed extensivly in both lower latitudes along with cruising our remote northern coast line. She is being sold due to health reasons and owner had intended to return to Victoria to complete his cruise. Things change as they often do and a couple of projects that were planned need to be completed but he has pulled up short here at Scarborough. The yacht is located in the marina, so easy for inspections. Priced to sell ASAP.
