Swan is believed to be one of the earlier boats built by the Cayzer brothers at Queenscliff, Victoria. She was constructed around 1950
Swan then found her way to southern Tasmania where she was believed to have been utilised on the Derwent River. She bears a plaque: 'Swan on Derwent'.
Some years later and several different custodians, she once again found herself in the professional hands of Tim Phillips from the Wooden Boat Shop (WBS) in Sorrento. She has just had a full restoration in 2023 including painting, brass blocks, reconditioned Yanmar motor, boat cover, safety equipment plus brand-new crispy sails.
She is an absolute pleasure to sail. You can feel the Swan talking as she glides through the water and it's great to see yet another one of these beautiful historic Couta's brought back to her former glory. She is a member of the Couta heritage fleet.
Currently lying in Mosman bay Sydney. Contact Flagstaff Marine to discuss or arrange an inspection of this little beauty.
