Okoromai is handcrafted piece of art designed by Peter Craddock and built by Warwick Smith for himself out of kauri and teak. She's a double diagonal planked and epoxy sheathed yacht built to the highest standards. The workmanship is exemplary as evidenced in the laminated deck beams- faultless in their fit and finish which are iconic features of NZ boat building heritage. She exemplifies a harmonious blend of old-world craftsmanship and modern materials and technology.

Finished and launched in 2003, Okoromai has been upgraded and refitted in 2017-2020 with new topsides paint, stack pack, solar panels, computerised shore charger and water maker.

The teak decks and interior woodwork have been refurbished, along with a complete hull scrape down and fresh hard anti-foul in 2021-22.

Beautifully balanced user sail with a 130% Genoa and a main, she has a good turn of speed for a cruising yacht. Sailing is assisted with Harken ST winches, Raymarine sailing instruments and B&G plotter. Her Low hours 37 hp Beta engine gives a cruising speed of approx. 6kts.
