REDUCED 'Jabiru' A beautiful family boat, a great day sailor, fun and a true classic Yacht with great lines. The Jubilee Class Yacht originally designed and built for the waters of port Phillip Bay in Victoria in 1935. It is believed that in the Jubilee year of the British Empire's yachtsman monarch King George V competed in this class. During the previous yachting season there had been two severe gales and many yachts foundered. Yacht fleets were severely depleted so there was an need for an new racing class. The Jubilee Class was chosen because it is powerful, stable, able to safely withstand big seas and strong winds. It was a also good size to slip and launch from the Beach. They were designed and built with a strict one design measurement system to insure quality one design racing. 'Jabiru' was built in Victoria by A Russel in 1939. Built with quality NZ Kauri ribs, Huon Pine below the waterline and Philippine Mahogany above. 'Jabiru has been a very successful racing yacht competing in the vintage boat series in Goolwa and winning Milang Goolwa Yacht race on more than one occasion. 'Jabiru' comes with a fully galvanised trailer, she has been well maintained, re wired, has a new solar panel and a new 6hp Yamaha 4 stroke outboard.
