Cooee is a gaff-topsail cutter built in Auckland by the legendary Bailey Bros in 1894 for snapper fishing. She raced during and after her fishing years then was set up for liveaboard recreational sailing in the 1930s. Thanks to enduring timbers and strong workboat construction she has survived in amazing condition and circumnavigated the world between 1983 and 1996. An October 2022 survey declared her sound. Cooee, almost certainly the oldest vessel ever to have circumnavigated, will continue to stun anchorages and boat shows for her next century.
