Remarks
Shrimpy is possibly the prettiest little boat on port Phillip bay, fully restored back in the terrible covid days and getting freshened up constantly she is immaculate. A bilge keeled sloop she can be beached or taken into shallow waters no problem. Built in England for rough water, high winds and big tides she is an extremely stable little boat.. "uncapsizeable" is what is written in the owners manual.. She is easy to reef with boom furling and electric head sail furling.
Electric 3hp Torqueedo motor is set up on the stern with a neat cover over the top (fixed in straight position and steering done via yacht tiller) Absolutely silent motor only two years old with very little use and have the tiller with digital display if wanting to use seperate from Shrimpy. Throttle on the stern with digital display for speed, distance to flat battery, current battery life as a percentage and wattage being used. Have spare battery. Range in nil wind or tide is approximately 15nm @ 2.5-3kn. Varys with wind, waves etc..
Has 160 AH lithium house battery that runs all LED lighting throughout, fridge, Nav lights, autopilot, elec furler, bilge pump. Can charge motor batteries from house battery and can charge house battery with 150w solar blanket on board whilst underway then when in harbour has 240 charger as well that will charge motor battery and house batteries simultaneously.
There is absolutely nothing needed for this very much loved boat, she is as perfectly set up for overnighters away and if the weather turns nasty set up the small jib, furl down the main and she will ride the big waves like a happy little duck!!!
I have set up for single handed sailing and we have sailed all around Port Phillip bay, she has turned many heads in the past two Wooden boat festivals in Geelong and has been on a mooring ball in Williamstown the past two years and has not leaked a single drop of sea water. She is back home on her heavy duty trailer waiting for a new home. Willing to deliver her as far north as Sydney if necessary.
Check out the book "Shrimpy" a story of an English man in the 70s sailed a sister boat to the silhouette (Caprice) around the world.. Was the smallest yacht to do so at the time.
Selling due to getting a new project boat..
