You are a couple, small family or solo sailor? Lucky Jonny might be the perfect yacht for you!
She is based in Marsden Cove Marina - but delivery within New Zealand could be arranged.
I have owned her for almost 5 years. After an extensive refit in 2022/2023, I sailed her all the way from Europe to New Zealand (not solo), having an amazing time and enjoying sailing and anchoring in remote places. After another season in Fiji and Vanuatu, time has come for us to go back to work - therefore I am looking for a new owner, who will love this boat as much as I do!
Lucky Jonny is a beautifully maintained 39-foot Dresport Furia 37, and I ensure you, that she is in really good condition. Being built in Spain in 1986, she combines a strong fiber structure (unlike younger boats) and European craftsmanship with modern upgrades, offering comfort, safety, and performance for both offshore cruising and relaxed coastal adventures. Originally, the Furia class was designed by Joubert-Nivelt (adapted to IOR rules) as a comfortable, but fast sailboat for off-shore cruiser-races.
The masthead rigging consists of a deck stepped mast with two pairs of spreaders, an adjustable back-stay, a genoa furling system, a removeable baby-stay and removable check-stays. All lines are led back to the cockpit, allowing easy handling with the six winches provided, the four main ones being self-tailing. She is a perfect boat for both: facing off-shore conditions or taking her out for weekend trips or sunset sailing.
We have sailed her with a maximum number of 12 persons on a day trip and 6 persons on an over-night trip. The perfect number of persons on board for over-night trips is two to four crew members. The Owner's cabin in the aft is provided with a super king size bed and ample of storage space. The V-Berth in the forward is slightly smaller but still comfortable for two persons and offering equally much storage space. The salon has extra sleeping space for 3 crew.
In general - coming inside this boat, you will immediately feel like coming home. Like coming into a comfortable, cozy living room. The design is characterised by its wooden elements, complemented by many small, lovingly thoughtful details. The salon offers a U-shaped seating on portside and bench-seating on starboard side. The galley is designed in U-shape and equipped with a two-burner gas stove and a 200L+ fridge. However, we mostly use electricity for cooking, thanks to her 400Ah lithium batteries and 760 Watt solar combined with a 400 Watt wind generator.
During our major refit, the electric system was completely exchanged and upgraded to modern standards including all navigational equipment. Two interconnected plotters allow easy navigation from both on and below deck. All instruments are of high-end brands such as Raymarine, Icom, Victron Energy or Simarine and phillippi. The electrical refit has been carried out by a professional yacht electrician. EWOF for New Zealand is valid until November 2029.
In the past years, the boat has been continuously upgraded with new rigging, sails, electronics, and safety gear. Every system - from power to plumbing - has been renewed or overhauled, making her truly cruiser-approved and ocean-ready.
Key Features:
o 2nd Owner only!
o Major refits from 2022-2025, including electrical, rigging, and engine systems
o Reliable Mercedes Solé OM 636 (42 HP) diesel, fully overhauled and well maintained

Mast / Rigging
The yacht features a strong and reliable masthead rig with a deck-stepped alloy mast. All standing rigging has been renewed within the past five years, and all running rigging was replaced between 2022 and 2024 using high-quality Gleistein lines. Equipped with a furling genoa, adjustable back stay, baby stay, removable check stays, and spinnaker and gennaker poles, the rig is designed for safe and efficient handling, even short-handed. Six winches - four of them self-tailing - make sail control easy and precise, while regular inspections ensure everything is in excellent condition.
Deck Gear
The deck layout is clean, practical, and built for offshore sailing comfort. 99% of sailing can be done from the cockpit with new line stoppers added in 2024.
The cockpit is spacious with seating for up to eleven people and is finished with durable, wood-lookalike "Isi Teek" decking. A large storage locker easily holds the dinghy, sails, and cruising gear, while additional aft compartments provide organised space for fuel, gas, and maintenance equipment. The yacht is fitted with new dodger, bimini, solar arc with davits, and a wide bathing platform with integrated swim ladder -- all contributing to a safe, functional, and enjoyable deck experience.
