The Dufour Classic 50 is a fast cruising yacht designed by Beret and Racoupeau and constructed by Dufour Yachts. She will impress lovers of traditional yachts with her majestic silhouette, fine under-body, extensive deck area, and beamy cockpit The Classic 50 design proudly crowns the Classic range. Inside, accommodations are designed for easy circulation throughout the boat and to preserve intimacy for the passengers. There are two large double cabins aft and an extra large owners vee cabin forward as well as twin storage cabins forward all accessed by individual cabin doors. Three head compartments and an independent shower provide appreciable comfort for owners, family and guests as desired. The Classic 50, with her oversized fuel and water tanks, great handling, and unequalled control, predestine the Dufour 50 Classic for long passages.

This vessel regularly makes 170nm plus a day in normal trade wind conditions and has seen many 190 plus days, distance made good. In addition the vessel is an exceptional light wind performer. The current owner has made several South Pacific blue water passages, virtually single handed and vouches for its safety, ease of handling, comfort and speed.

She is currently owned by an experienced cruising yachtsman and is his 4th cruising yacht. The vessel has been refitted and upgraded to particularly suit long distance blue water cruising. All equipment has been chosen with quality as the guiding factor to ensure longevity and ease of maintenance. The extensive storage space combined with large refrigerator and high capacity watermaker and inbuilt washing machine ensures the ability to stay remote from supplies while addressing the hassles of water supply and doing laundry.

Accommodation
The interior was customised in 2015 to create a very large owners vee berth with extensive storage plus a separate laundry with washing machine and separate storeroom. At this time all existing vinyl headliners and hull liners were replaced with Fabtex Ultramarine cream coloured vinyl fabric and all the original Lewmar portlights were replaced with top quality Goiot "Crystal" portlights. Additionally most hatches have had their lenses replaced with new tinted acrylic.
Stepping onto the yacht via the wide rear sugar-scoop up into the large cockpit you have rear lazarettes both port and starboard with seating above, along with storage lockers aft of here in the sugar-scoop. There is the large stainless steel wheel mounted on the pedestal with nav and engine controls at hand while under way. Cockpit features teak inlay on both seating and sole. Forward of the wheel on centerline there is a split cockpit table arrangement with storage/ice box in the middle. Either side of this you have large storage lockers. Most lines lead aft to the cockpit and dodger and bimini give good protection from the weather. Moving through the cockpit forward, there is a small storage locker for shoes/gloves just at you descend through companionway.
Stepping down the four companionway treads into the large saloon you have a storage locker and forward engine access under the steps. To starboard of here is the sit down forward facing navigation station with all electronics at hand. Watermaker controls are within reach of here.
Seating for approx eight around the saloon table is in a u shaped format. The table has drop down function to provide another double berth if required and a small storage compartment in the middle of the table serves as a drinks storage area. The Galley (more fully described below) is to port of here, and there are two large deck hatches overhead as well as six opening ports to provide natural lighting and air movement throughout the saloon. Working your way forward (she is a fifty footer) you have the his and hers ensuites, port and starboard. Each feature shower, vanity and head. Forward of the port head is a large storage cabin with shelving fitted to hold all manner of cruising kit. Opposite this is a similar sized cabin that holds the washing machine and additional storage. Forward into the large owners Vee berth the large double berth is surrounded by many storage lockers/draws and shelves. Three deck hatches service this cabin.
Walking back through the saloon toward the aft of the vessel you have two double cabins and a stand alone shower/head for guests.

For efficient and comfortable cruising, she features a large wheel at the helm and a large well protected cockpit with room to cruise and entertain in style. She is fast and easily handled for shorthanded passage making, as proven on her many ocean trips through the South Pacific.. If you are considering purchasing a large volume cruising yacht to set off out into the big blue, we recommend you give this vessel close look. She has all that is needed to cross oceans and will make fast passages when given a clear head.
