The yacht is secured to a private jetty which is owned by one of the members and has power and water plus easy parking.

In the production yachts, Dufours are well recognised as class leaders. The Dufours Grand Large (GL) range of cruising yachts were designed to maximise internal volume and therefore carry their ample beam all the way from midships to transom.

That said, the 425 GL offers a good turn of speed and a stable, well-balanced sailing performance in almost all conditions. This one has electric 2 speed primary winches, very recent standing rigging, good quality sail wardrobe, twin wheel steering, good electronics package, large, cushioned cockpit area under a well shaded cockpit.

Used mainly in local waters around Pittwater and Sydney Harbour, the Dufour 425 GL is easily able to enjoy some coastal cruising.

Her fine bow, plumb stem and long waterline make her quick and comfortable to windward, while her shallow bilge sections and broad stern made her quick off the wind.

The hand-built hull and deck was robustly constructed using waterproof resins for integrity and durability.
