Fast monohull cruiser/racer. Lightness, sports equipment and a myriad of trimming options, these yachts are designed not only to be enjoyed by a cruising family, but also to be sailed fast. The S3 is the the top model from Elan. With a broad stern, chined hull, twin-rudder system and a spacious cockpit layout, all designed for the best sailing efficiency, the Elan S3 emulates the feel of a larger yacht. Simply put, the yacht delivers exuberant performance with such ease that you will want to sail harder; such is the level of control delivered by the S3. Its T-bulb keel lowers the ballast centre of gravity significantly, allowing a reduction of displacement for a given level of stability. Combined with VAIL (vacuum-assisted infusion lamination) bulkheads and a powerful hull structure, the S3 is a tight, strong and safe boat. Hull is laminated with VAIL - Vacuum Assisted Infusion Lamination technology, to considerably improve strength, mechanical and chemical properties of the hull, SVG gelcoat for optimal chemical resistance against osmosis and mirror finish, sandwich construction using multi-directional Fibreglass, structural closed cells foam core and single skin on loaded areas, vinylester skin coat and Isophtalic polyester resin are used for high quality product, powerful inner structure distributes all loads from the keel and rig effectively with a minimum flexing of the hull.
