Folkes 42.
Custom David Folkes designed 42 ft (12.8m) Bluewater steel-hull cruising sloop 'Coastal Drifter' exclusively for sale with DBY Boat Sales.
Discover your own piece of ocean paradise on this turnkey boat. Everything is already to sail away with bedding, dishes, cooking equipment, tools and spares galore onboard. This sturdy vessel could be yours! Crafted by a seasoned builder on picturesque Vancouver Island from a David Folkes 43 design, SY Coastal Drifter was launched in 2006 from the prolific boatyards of Nanaimo Canada, and embodies quality both inside and out. She has sailed over 8000 nautical miles; from the west coast of Canada to her current location in Fiji.
"COASTAL DRIFTER" is a robust steel vessel and is safe and forgiving. She'll be your gateway to the famous islands and reefs, while retaining the capability for making passages to new horizons and adventures beyond. Consider the yacht as a movable beach, ready to take you wherever you want to go. Head to shore for provisioning, then out to the islets, coves, bays, and islands to enjoy the tropical weather.
The fuel capacity gives you peace of mind and the large fresh water tank combined with the high-volume RO watermaker removes any worries about shortages. The 600W solar panel array makes it possible to live off the grid for weeks at a time without worry and tradewinds power up the wind generator to add to your energy source. Also the new BETA engine with only 600 hours is a true bonus.
If you've got a thirst for far-off adventure, or just want to drift about in the tropical waters, SY Coastal Drifter is ready to transport you to other South Pacific destinations and beyond.
A recent full out of water survey was carried out in Fiji (May 2024) and is available upon request.
