Bare Necessities is a 43ft (13.1m) steel centre-cockpit ketch located in Opua, Bay of Islands.

Designed by French naval architect Georges Auzepy-Brenneur, she is a substantial older cruising/liveaboard yacht with simple systems, plenty of character and significant recent work already completed.

2024 vessel survey with hull ultrasound, engine survey and rigging survey are available to genuine buyers.

Recent equipment and upgrades include a brand-new mainsail & Mizzen and stack packs, standing rigging substantially renewed within approximately five years, 32kg Rocna anchor with 80m of new chain, upgraded solar and Victron charging/monitoring, new alternator, newer navigation electronics and VHF, and a Force 10 LPG stove/oven with certified LPG installation.

She also carries a Sailomat windvane, diesel heater, dinghy and newer outboard.

Ford keel-cooled diesel with Paragon transmission. The engine was professionally inspected in 2024 and starts readily from cold.

Original vessel drawings and extensive survey/maintenance documentation are aboard.

This is an older steel cruising yacht rather than a cosmetically perfect modern production boat. Some cosmetic paint/rust attention remains.

Head fitted with Nature's Head composting toilet; no built-in shower.

NZ$59,900.

Inspection by appointment in Opua.
