Launched in 2001 Chiringuito is French designed and build steel multchine Deck Saloon. Sailed in the Mediterranean then across the Pacific, sailing a few years in French Polynesia, Noumea and then sold to the second owner whom sailed her over to Australia.
Imported from Noumea from owner/builder the plan was to upgrade machinery and systems and improve the overall condition of fit out. All electronics where upgraded with B&G, was re-engined with a 50hp marinized 4cyl naturally aspirated Kubota from Witchards Marine, NSW.
She can be beached safely with a draught of 0.9m or let the centerboard swing down to 2.4 meter. Was built to cruise safely and comfortably and to high latitudes so heavily insulated and very well set up for the tropics with 5 opening hatches on deck and deck saloon. Cutter rigged with furling upfront, sail cover of main and have a spinnaker with two poles for each side or use simultaneously. Jib also available.
The internal lay out is a wide saloon with galley and chart table to starboard and a 3/4 quarter bunk aft port. Step in pantry aft to starboard with an upright 12V Fridge.
Double bunk forward and small head compartment to Starboard. Bow section has a fibreglassed timber anchor locker, multiple storage and a workshop area. A forward vee berth would be easy to refit in the bow with ample storage available. New unused Tecma Elegance 2G electric head.
On deck Chiringuito is set up with a small dodger over companion way and a bimini over the large cockpit. Bimini was custom made in 2017 by the best marine trimmer in Manly
The cockpit has a side locker accessed by gull wing hatch. All lines comes back to cockpit.
The swing keel is very simple and works very well. Operated via dynema line from the deck and aft to a spinlock clutch under dodger. There is minimal weight and only a short length of line from full down to full up Marks on this line show board position.
There are build plans that show details of swingkeel construction which includes slides to hold board steady. Internal ballast with 14 ft beam
Yacht is registered on the Australian Small Boat Register and with Qld rego expiring in January 2027
