Rare Late Build | Exceptional Provenance | Recent Sail Wardrobe | Cruising Ready
Late-production Hallberg-Rassy 342s are becoming increasingly difficult to find, particularly examples supported by comprehensive provenance and maintenance documentation. Built in 2016, MUTTLEY is one of the final fifteen Hallberg-Rassy 342s ever built, combining the maturity of this highly respected Germán Frers design with the reassurance of a significantly younger build than almost every other example currently available on the brokerage market.

Purchased new from Hallberg-Rassy in Sweden, MUTTLEY is accompanied by an exceptional documentary file including her original Hallberg-Rassy sales invoice, Builder's

Certificate, Declaration of Conformity, Germanischer Lloyd certification, HMRC VAT documentation, Bills of Sale, registration history and an extensive portfolio of maintenance records.

Such provenance is seldom found so complete and provides buyers with an unusually high level of confidence in both ownership history and ongoing care.

Equally impressive is the yacht's mechanical and cruising specification. The Volvo Penta D1-30 engine has benefitted from consistent professional servicing, whilst the saildrive underwent a comprehensive overhaul including diaphragm replacement in 2023. More recently, the exhaust elbow has been renewed, the raw-water pump rebuilt and the propulsion system maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, with supporting invoices retained throughout.

For the cruising sailor, MUTTLEY has been thoughtfully equipped for comfortable short-handed passagemaking. Her Selden in-mast furling rig is complemented by a vertically battened Elvström FatFurl mainsail, a 2024 Penrose tri-radial furling headsail, furling Code 0, Hydrovane self-steering system, Rutland wind generator, solar charging, Webasto heating and a comprehensive cruising specification reflecting practical, experienced ownership. Her easily managed sail plan and responsive tiller steering make her enjoyable to sail, whilst the absence of a wheel and pedestal leaves an unusually spacious and open cockpit for relaxing, dining and entertaining.

Internally, the traditional Hallberg-Rassy craftsmanship remains one of the yacht's defining features. Rich mahogany joinery, the highly regarded two-cabin layout, quality upholstery, practical navigation station and secure sea-going galley combine to create an interior that remains every bit as appealing today as when she left the factory. The atmosphere below decks is warm, purposeful and unmistakably Hallberg-Rassy.

Whilst many Hallberg-Rassy 342s now approaching the brokerage market were built between 2005 and 2010, MUTTLEY's position as one of the final fifteen examples built, together with her documented maintenance history and extensive supporting paperwork, places her in a particularly select group. For buyers seeking one of the youngest and best documented examples of this enduringly popular model, she represents a rare opportunity.

MUTTLEY also possesses the less tangible qualities that distinguish a genuinely appealing cruising yacht. Her traditional Hallberg-Rassy profile regularly draws admiration, whilst her tiller steering creates both an engaging sailing experience and a notably open cockpit when at anchor or alongside. She combines the reassuring capability expected of an offshore Hallberg-Rassy with the warmth, practicality and character that encourage owners to form a lasting attachment to the boat.

Owners Comments
We have loved owning MUTTLEY. Although our cruising grounds have not been especially extensive, it has always been very reassuring to know that she is a genuinely capable offshore yacht.

We have found the accommodation ideal for our style of cruising, and she has always attracted many admirers. Countless conversations have started simply because someone noticed MUTTLEY on her mooring.

Her specification is excellent and the sail plan is straightforward to handle. The tiller makes her particularly enjoyable to sail, whilst also leaving a large and open cockpit for meals and sundowners.
