The Hallberg-Rassy brand is renowned for its exceptional build quality, and the true Bluewater capability of its designs. With 255 built, the 42E remains highly sought after and is one of the finest examples of the Hallberg-Rassy ethos and the firm's signature design elements. With the traditional centre-cockpit layout, distinctive fixed windshield, and stunning flush teak deck, these vessels turn heads where ever they pull into port. This vessel is an excellent example of the design and is very well equipped as a serious Bluewater cruiser. In the last 6 months the current owner has significantly improved the vessel with NEW STANDING RIGGING, NEW 6 X 105AH HOUSE BATTERIES, NEW FRESH WATER SYSTEM, NEW INJECTORS, TURBO, AND FUEL PUMP FOR THE ENGINE. The vessel also features HEAVY DUTY STAINLESS STEEL DAVITS, ELECTRIC 2 SPEED PRIMARY WINCHES, 4KVA GENSET, AIR CONDITIONING AND A DIESEL HEATER, ALL SAILS NEW IN 2015, TENDER AND OUTBOARD, 4 MAN LIFE RAFT, and EXCELLENT ELECTRONICS, making it an incredible package. With only 3 owners from new, and having already circumnavigated the globe with its original owners, this vessel presents a rare opportunity to fulfill even the most ambitious cruising aspirations!

Stepping inside, the hand-rubbed Mahogany fit out is absolutely superb. The quality of the timber and appointments really has to be seen to be fully appreciated. The central saloon features a generous timber folding leaf dinette, with seating for 8 on the comfortable settees. The backs of these settees can also be raised to form additional single bunk berths when required. The extensive master cabin is aft and features a large double berth to starboard and single opposite. There is plenty of storage for long range cruising, and a full ensuite. The second private cabin is forward and can be configured as either two singles or a double. There is a second full bathroom to service this cabin and guests on board. Designed for serious cruising, the L-shaped galley is ideal for preparing meals at sea, and is well appointed with a NEW gas stove with oven, deep top loading fridge, dual bowl stainless steel sinks, filtered pressurised fresh water, and excellent storage. The package is complete with a traditional chart table which will please even the most discerning sailor.

Outside, the cockpit offers excellent protection from the elements with the hard windscreen and additional spray dodger. This vessel is easily sailed shorthanded with the aid of the electric primary winches, in-mast furling main, and furling headsail and staysail. The electronics are also excellent and include a modern Simrad touch screen chartplotter, B&G wind instruments, and Raymarine autopilot. There is easy access around the wide side decks to the bow, which is fitted with powerful electric anchor winch, 30kg Stainless Steel plough anchor, and 90m x stainless steel chain. This will keep the vessel in place in even the most challenging anchorage! Moving aft the the pushpit is very well setup with stainless steel davits, solar panels, a wind generator, swim platform, tender and outboard, and even a BBQ.

This vessel is powered by a well maintained and reliable Volvo Penta 4 Cylinder Turbo Diesel 76HP Diesel Engine. Having recently benefited from new injectors, turbo, and fuel pump, it is in excellent order. This provides easy cruising at 7 knots. This area also houses the 6kVa genset in its own well insulated box for sound proofing.

The build quality of these vessels is exceptionally good, and its in the fine details both structurally and cosmetically that this can be fully appreciated. The hull is solid hand laid fiberglass, stiffened with stringers and fully tabbed bulkheads. The hull/deck joint is fully glassed over to form a monocoque structure. The long fin keel is fully encapsulated with iron ballast, and the rudder is mounted on a full skeg with a bronze stock for absolute strength and safety. With so many upgrades, and all the cruising features one could ask for, this vessel simply ticks all the boxes. Ready to be enjoyed now, it is sure to impress on inspection.
