Boat Overview
Cormorant is a 1997 Heard 28 Gaff Cutter, professionally outfitted for modern offshore cruising while maintaining her traditional strengths. Built by Gaffers & Luggers to a Falmouth Working Boat design, she is a rugged, full-keel cutter that sails fast, performs well in rough seas, and looks stunning at anchor or under sail. She has been updated with a lithium house bank, 400W solar, Starlink, Hydrovane, and many new Quantum sails. With timeless lines, modern systems, and gear valued at more than her asking price, Cormorant is a turnkey passage-ready vessel ideal for a solo adventurer or couple chasing wind and freedom.

Owners Comments and Boat History
An outstanding boat that I sailed mostly singlehanded from the Bahamas to New England. She always took care of me and is easy to sail. An easily driven hull that's designed and set up to sail the world but just as fun to take out for a daysail. Life changes are what has me selling her... Hard to write as she is my dream boat.
Fourth owner - the previous was a master rigger who completed a full structural and systems renovation. I repaired a section of the deck and cabin (2025), repainted the cockpit, barrier-coated the hull and antifouled. She's in excellent shape.
Original owners sold boat to Great Lakes. She returned to Salt Water probably in 2014, sold to a buyer that moved her to North Carolina and hauled to repair deck. Project stalled and after 6 years on land was bought by previous owner who refit for ocean voyaging. Work demands forces sale, mid cruise in Bahamas, which current owner was lucky to secure.
