Mowzer was launched in 2000 in the USA and initially sailed to Europe, where she remained out of the water for six years. Her next owner cruised the Mediterranean for three months each summer, with the boat stored ashore for the remainder of the year.
We took ownership in 2019 and undertook an extensive 18-month refit that included a new engine, electrical overhaul, and the installation of Hydrovane self-steering to prepare her for offshore sailing. In August 2021, we set off from the UK on our journey to Australia, and Mowzer has proven to be a safe, comfortable, and reliable cruising vessel for our family of four. We have complete confidence in her offshore capabilities and ability to reach any destination safely.
The boat has recently been imported into Australia, and all duties have been paid.
Over the past four years, we have carried out numerous upgrades and regular maintenance, ensuring she remains in excellent condition for her next adventure.

Accommodation
The IP 40 has a 2 stateroom, 2 head interior. The Owner's Cabin is forward with large Pullman berth to starboard. The roomy private head with teak shower seat is all the way forward. The owner's suite features excellent ventilation and ample storage with bins and drawers underneath the berth plus bureau drawers and a cedar-lined hanging locker to port. Just aft is the spacious Main Salon with bulkhead mounted fold-up table. The table folds out a second time for a large salon-wide dining experience. An L-shaped settee to starboard pulls out to make a double berth. Aft of this settee is a nav desk and instrument panel. To port is a settee and cedar-lined hanging locker. The Aft Head with a shower follows to port and is accessible from both the salon and aft cabin. To port of the companionway is the entrance to the Aft Cabin featuring 'extra large' berth, storage bins and drawers and cedar-lined hanging locker. The engine is under the companionway and is easily accessible from all four sides.

Remarks
Mowzer is ready to go cruising again, having recently sailed across the Pacific. She has proven to be a sea-kindly, solid, spacious boat for blue water sailing. In 2021, a Hydrovane self-steering system was installed which allows for short-handed sailing, reduced power consumption and provides an emergency rudder/steering system. She benefits from a new engine (2021), new standing rigging (2024) and lithium batteries (2023). She was hauled out in November 2024 for maintenance, including fresh bottom paint and new anodes. The liferaft has been serviced in Australia, so she is ready to go on her next blue water adventure. Mowzer comes with a comprehensive set of tools and spare parts, including a new starter motor, rigging spares, fittings, numerous electrical and plumbing spares, and various stainless steel fasteners.
