Joubert designed Bounty 43 fast offshore passage maker in incredible condition ready to sail the world!
If you are looking for a fast, reliable, strongly built, seaworthy, go anywhere Bluewater sailboat then look no further than this meticulously well setup Bounty 43 centre cockpit cutter rig.
This yacht has had many major upgrades over the past few years to get her ready as a Bluewater live aboard cruising yacht. She is in great condition and is setup ready to head offshore, everything is in perfect working order and there are no more upgrades needed. She really is turn key!
Yachts of this pedigree rarely come up for sale, especially a Peter Joubert design. Joubert was a renowned Australian boat designer and professor in hydrodynamics who was known for designing strong, seaworthy, fast yachts. Malew is no exception and has earned her stripes offshore. She has raced many Sydney to Hobart's, even a Melbourne to Osaka race and cruised the Pacific islands as a live aboard.
As a Joubert design and Australian made boat from the era before production yachts, she is professionally hand built by craftsmen with all the hallmarks of a true seaworthy offshore yacht. Hand laid full thickness fibreglass hull layup, encapsulated fin keel, skeg hung rudder. Plus low rocker and minimal freeboard give her great lines and make her slippery through the water. You feel safe and comfortable at the helm enclosed in the centre cockpit with full coverage from a brand new dodger, Bimini and zipped in sides. She is a cutter rig with a furling Genoa foreword and an inner forestay for a hanked storm jib.
As a centre cockpit she makes a great liveaboard with a 2 separate cabin layout. A master cabin with a double berth aft and a fore cabin with a double to starboard and a single and pilot berth to port. She has a spacious saloon and a good functional galley for a seaway with an extra Huon pine bench top to make culinary life easier. The galley is fitted with a 2 burner Broadwater oven/stove, she has 2 fridge/freezers. The original drop down fridge in the galley and an extra chest fridge /freezer to accommodate enough supplies for an expedition.
Malew is a pleasure to sail, very balanced at the helm, and the perfect combination of being fast but stable. She is easy to sail shorthand. She cruises effortlessly at 7-8 knots and regularly sails at 10+ knots under a strong wind, bringing the pleasure and joy back into your sailing.
She is the perfect balance, a true all rounder. A comfortable live aboard that sails beautifully, ensuring fast passage times and fun sailing. If you are looking to head off and explore the world or just after a reliable seaworthy performer then Malew could be the perfect yacht for you.
Malew's renowned pedigree insures a timeless design where seaworthiness, strength and performance were paramount. Her age not only gives her the soul and mystique of an older boat but also firmly places her in that unmatched era of boatbuilding when pride and craftsmanship was priority and building indestructible long lasting sea boats was the principle goal. They don't make them like this anymore!
All this coupled with the fact that the current owner has replaced and modernised all the major system onboard guarantees Malew is a great boat and a great buy for the discerning connoisseur. She is unlikely to be on the market for long, so don't hesitate.
