Built new in the UK to Lloyd's specifications and sailed by a couple across the Mediterranean, Atlantic and Pacific in the 1990s, sold in Queensland to previous owner sailed up Australian east coast and Tasmania. The Moody 425 - quite simply one of the best cruising yachts known for its build quality, comfort, superior layout, and sailing performance for a cruising boat. Key features include large aft cabin with centreline berth, well-equipped seaworthy galley, and dry, sheltered centre cockpit. Its design is considered a modern classic, suitable for families and long-term cruising, and it can be sailed single-handedly due to its well-arranged controls.

NEW - Yanmar 54hp diesel, Raymarine digital radar, stainless fuel tank, stainless Slipstream feathering 3 blade prop on new stainless shaft and coupling.
NEW - Keel bolts and plates upgraded and keel refitted simply as a function of getting her ready to sail the Pacific and beyond whilst the engine was out and mast was refurbished.

Designed by Bill Dixon the hull is a solid GRP layup and high quality gelcoat that still polishes to a sparkle.
The deck is one piece glued-and-through-bolted with glassed-in-bulkheads.
Rig is a deck stepped Seldon masthead arrangement with gear driven in-mast furling, furling headsail, removable deck mounted staysail and Dyneema runners. Other sails on socks/snuffers or cable furling. She is classically over rigged with fore and aft lowers giving you confidence in all weather and plenty of options for redundancy and fine tuning.
Layout makes the most of her 4m beam with a comfortable saloon offering seating for 6-8 people, a cocktail cabinet and a generous amount of built in stowage for provisions and equipment. Includes 2 heads (bathrooms), a bunk cabin, fore cabin and generous master aft cabin with settee and a sound insulated engine compartment with 3 maintenance panels for easy servicing. Galley is passage-style with double sink, Force 10 two burner gas stove with oven and grill.
Fridge is a nice deep 12v top access unit. Galley also has plumbed water filter, saltwater foot tap.
Water tanks hold a combined 450 litres (replaced 2012)with a tap divider. Hot water is by calorifier-unit heated by both 240v shore power and the engine when underway.
Fuel is 250 litre capacity in NEW stainless tank with 2 filters/water separators and a separate engine filter.
House power to the vessel is 12v with 3 or 4 120 AGM house batteries PLUS a seperate engine start battery and bow thruster battery (batteries replaced 3 years ago).
Communications include Codan HF radio, Sailor (Denmark) VHF, AIS broadcast and receive, Handheld VHF with DSC, EPIRB and flare kit.
Sugar scoop stern with swim ladder and large aft lazarette PLUS sun-pad (NEW solar panel not fitted).
SidePower bow thruster with remote.
New inflatable with outboard.
