Priced to sell, Jacana has just returned to Australian Waters from the South Pacific and is ready for her next coastal or bluewater cruising adventure.
She is cutter-rigged and sails beautifully on all points of sail. She has been well maintained throughout her life (only having had 3 owners - the previous owners circumnavigated on her) and has had a family (of 4) living aboard for the past 5 years as she safely took them up and down the Australian Coast and throughout the South Pacific. Jacana is totally set-up for long term bluewater or coastal cruising with 900W of solar, 3 x new lifepo4 lithium batteries, solar-powered watermaker, broadwater stove, carbon fibre spinnaker poles, high-quality internal timber etc. She is set up for short-handed sailing (all lines can be controlled from the cockpit) with a hydraulic boom-furling mainsail, electric winch, new ProFurl headsail furler (2022), new sails (2022) and new standing rigging (2022). She has a relatively new Bukh DV48 turbo diesel engine with just over 2000 hours, autostream propeller etc
Jacana is a shoal draft due to her swing keel, which alters the draft from 1.5m to 2.9m and gives an effective 10 degrees greater performance upwind. The solid GRP (unbalasted) keel is raised and lowered from the cockpit. As well as the quick-detach inner forestay and running backstays for the staysail, she has a baby forestay and backstays for peace of mind in heavy weather.

She is a thoroughbred passage-maker - often achieving 180-200nm days when ocean sailing. She is of a medium displacement, carrying a large sail area, encouraging sailing rather than motoring - sailing from the Gold Coast Seaway in 2022 to New Caledonia, to Fiji and cruising the Fijian islands for 5 months, she motored for just 120 hours. The boat has been meticulously maintained, updated and remains incredibly reliable and ready for all conditions. She doesn't leak - she is a dry boat and her bilges are almost always dry. She is strong, reliable, dry and fast! Australian registered.
