Built by the renowned Pompei Yachts, "Amazing Grace" presents a great versatile example of the capable 43 Motor Sailer. Pompei's name is synonymous with high-quality classic builds, and this vessel certainly demonstrates that attention to detail with a clever layout and use of space.
The aft deck space is thoughtfully laid out with a custom-built extended roof that covers this area to increase year-round usability. The mizzen's mast base is easily visible, being mounted on the deck above the aft cabin. Forward of the Mizzen mast step is a wonderful cockpit lounge space that feels incredibly safe thanks to being recessed down a couple of steps from deck level. This lounge works brilliantly as an alfresco-style space that flows through to the interior pilothouse, while the beautiful extended roof covers the area for usability no matter the conditions. The pilothouse is simple and highly functional with an upgraded Raymarine chart plotter, depth sounder, GPS, radar and TMQ autohelm unit.
Access to the saloon area is found via a few steps down from the pilothouse on the starboard side. The saloon is extremely charming and spacious with plenty of floor space and large settees. Upon entry and immediately to port sits the galley. Configured in a U-shape, it is very well suited for offshore operation and features a large twin sink with hot and cold water, gimballed 4-burner gas stove and oven and a microwave. Forward of the galley is a large L-shape settee and varnished dinette providing space for 4, in addition, the starboard side houses another L-shape settee for 4 also.
Moving forward past the lounge area, the forward accommodation houses a series of 4 single bunk berths and an ensuite located in the forepeak with shower and a portable toilet unit.
Sitting below the pilothouse and cockpit lounge area is the engine room, with easy access either via a door on the aft bulkhead of the saloon or through the forward bulkhead in the master aft cabin. The mechanical space is easy to move around, with all major systems being easy to service.
Access to the master aft cabin is found through a companionway on the aft deck. With generous floor space and great storage, the aft master cabin sports a great double bed to port, plus a single berth to the far starboard side, that is currently being used for storage. Sitting between these two separate berths is a full ensuite head which benefits greatly from generous floor space, fitted with a portable toilet and hot and cold shower.
The boarding platform is complemented with a heavy-duty stainless-steel davit system and solar panels mounted above. Generous deck space makes for easy mobility fore and aft with plenty of hand holds and uncluttered decks. Control of the furling mizzen and furling main sail is easy with a series of winches on the aft deck and cockpit. The furling staysail is currently set up to be self-tacking.
Amazing Grace presents in great condition and is a fine example of the pedigree boat builder Pompei. With a high-volume interior that is well thought out, Amazing Grace is well suited to a broad range of tasks.
