. Amazing Grace is a Pedigree Huon Pine Motor sailing Yacht NOT a converted Fishing Boat. She has sailed around the world and Circumnavigated Tasmania at least 3 times. SHe was designed By Ken Lacco and built under the Pompei roof in Mordialic Victoria. Her hull is almost identical to Maid of Martha and very hi end Laci design. She has huon pine below the water and Celery Top above. The deck was originally Beech but now is a sturdy combination of Composite sheet and fibreglass. She is Powered by a Mercedes 120 hp diesel rebuilt 300 hrs ago and I mean rebuilt, new crank road rings and head serviced She has a full sweet of Electronics Raymarine GPS and RAdar with a TMQ Auto Pilot with remot control to make summer cruising a Pleasure. The boat has had many serious upgrades along the way. SHe has recently enjoyed a new stem and several repairs to bring her up to her current state which is Solid as well as sound. All repairs were done using Huon She has just completed a trip from Kettering to Apollo Bay in Victoria and back crossing Bass strait twice in 2 weeks. She used around 6 ltrs an hour and under sail and motor achieved 9.5 knotts ! Not bad for a 23 ton boat. She has had the benefit of a Substantial Awning which doubles as a water catchment on extended trips to improve fresh water supply. And a keen sun baking area. She has Solar and 4x 300 amp House batteries and 2 x Heavy duty Cranking. She Also has Furling Main, Mizzen, Head and Jib. Substanials Davits. Down below she has Excellent fridge and freezer and a 4 burner stove and gas oven. Micro wave as well as Inverter. 2 showers with excellent Hot water supply. Amazing Grace is an enigma, Pompei never really built many Pleasure craft as substantial as Grace. SHe is massive for her Length being 4.5 mtrs wide. She is very safe and a comfortable cruiser. She needs to be seen to be appreciated. Timber boats in this condition are hard to find and you will get a front row seat at the next wooden boat show as you enjoy Atmosphere under the cover of her Awning. Timber Boats enjoy a special relationship with the sea and Grace is no Different. She offers substantial protection from the elements and is perfect for a family with children.
You don't get many chances to own a Pompei especially one as Beautiful as Amazing Grace. One interesting fact... She got her name from Wilma her original owner. It was the name of the only song she could play on her Violin! Happy to deliver to Mainland for costs. Or leave her here u til Feb and enjoy the Wooden Boat Festival!
