South Coast 36 Yacht - Fremantle
South Coast 36 sailing yacht needing completion. Most of the hard work has already been done, making this a solid project for someone wanting to finish and customise a capable offshore cruiser.
Background
At some stage in its life, the yacht had a substandard anchor locker / forward cabin bulkhead installation, which allowed water to leak into the bilge and keel area. This resulted in internal osmosis.
Over the past year, the vessel has been on the hard stand in Fremantle while the issue was addressed:
Affected areas were opened up and dried
The majority of keel patching has been completed
The keel (lead ingots set in concrete) has been injected with epoxy to fill any voids
Recent Work Completed
New forward lower bulkhead fabricated from marine plywood
New anchor locker floor fabricated from marine plywood
These will need final trim for fitment and laminating with fibreglass
Then top bulkhead fabricated. Marine ply and fiberglass with boat
Work Still Required
Final round of keel patching
Fitment and Fibreglassing of anchor locker and bulkhead areas
Fibreglass of bilge repairs
Putting it all back together, booms, sails, running rigging. All come with the boat.
Reason for Sale
Due to work commitments (I have been working upto 80 hours per week), I don't have the time to complete the project. The boat deserves to be finished properly and is being passed on to someone with the time and interest to do so. The boat is currently on hardstand at Fremantle Sailing Club. Will need to take over payment for hardstand or move it on. Currently leasing a pen at Fremantle, this possibly may be transferable.
Located in Fremantle, WA.
