This special yacht was designed and built by John Spencer and his partner Keith in their boatshed at Browns Bay Auckland- two yachts built side by side in 1976- the beginings of the Spencer Gulf Cruiser fleet of which many were later built, This is the only one in Australia, having been sailed here some 37 years ago when owned by the Corlett family of Pittwater. I have owned the yacht since 1990, cruised and raced it and must now pass it on. I have made numerous "improvements" to it over the years- new rig, engine, sails, autopilot, internal fitout etc. I have cruised it to and from Lord Howe Island 2-up and Hobart 3-up and made many solo trips - the new Raymarine EV 100 proving its worth in the past year. New new AGM Batteries, fuel lines and fuel filter, fully functioning fridge, pressure water at galley and WC, self tailing winches, cockpit adjustable halyards, reefing and jib sheet blocks, - all make sailing her easy and comfortable shorthanded - and surprisingly quick, having won various harbour and offshore races in the past years.
