The Swanson 42 is renowned as a truely capable and comfortable Bluewater Cruiser. Professionally build to be exceptional strong and sea kindly, they continue to be enjoyed as both liveaboard and long range cruisers. This vessel is one of the best examples of the design we have come access. Having had 3 meticulous owners since its launch, it has been superbly maintained and upgraded. The original owner enjoyed both cruising and racing in the vessel, participating in at least 3 Sydney to Hobart races. The second owner cruised extensively through the Pacific including a voyage to New Zealand. Since coming to Hobart in 2011, the vessel has undergone significant upgrades and been professionally maintained by Able Marine. The most recent upgrades include NEW 2020 STANDING RIGGING, FURLER, AND MAST REFURBISHMENT, THE HULL, DECK, AND COACH HOUSE WERE PROFESSIONALLY REPAINTED AND NEW WINDOWS FITTED, IN 2022 THE ENTIRE INTERIOR WAS PAINTED, ALL THE OLD ELECTRICAL WIRING WAS REMOVED, AND ALL PLUMBING WAS REPLACED, THE ENGINE HAD A MAJOR SERVICE INCLUDING NEW ENGINE MOUNTS, BELTS, HOSES, AND IMPELLER ALL REPLACED, the list goes on! Stepping inside, the interior of the vessel is light and airy, with fresh white finishes and quality timber trims. The spacious saloon features a stunning timber dinette, with seating for 8 in comfort on the neatly upholstered settees. The accommodation is truely impressive with a total of 9 berths! This includes a master cabin aft with a double and single, V-berth forward with two singles, single quarter berth in separate cabin, two single settee berths, and two coach house berths, almost all with lee cloths. The well appointed galley is to port and is equipped with a 3 burner gas stove with oven, stainless steel sink with pressurised water, and excellent bench space. The coach house is an excellent space for keeping watch, and enjoying the sights whilst underway. This area leads seamlessly into the full protected cockpit. The vessel is well set up for short handed sailing with the self tailing winches, furling headsail on a NEW 2020 Almast furler, and main in a boom bag with lazy jacks. The wide side decks provide easy acess forward, and there is an excellent storage space around the mast. There is also plenty of room on the bow to relax in the sun at your favourite anchorage.

This vessel is powered by a very well maintained Perkins 48HP Diesel Engine. Having received a major service in Jan 2022 it presents in excellent condition. This provides easy cruising at 6 to 7 knots.

Layout is designed for maximum no. Of berths. Can sleep up to 9 very comfortably, with a maximum of 11 if the dining seating is utilised. Lee cloths for all berths except main. There are 2 berths in the coach house, these are great for hot weather and when on watch. High and comfortable, great visibility and for getting out of the weather.

The stairs from the coach house lead down to the spacious saloon. Galley immediately to port. New Fridge/freezer and food storage to starboard.
To the rear of the steps there are two cabins, port and starboard with single berths. The starboard cabin has a berth and mattress but is also ideal as a storage/workshop area. The port cabin also has a single berth and has a locker for personal items. The house and engine batteries are located under the port berth. The engine area is located under the cockpit, behind the stairs and between the port and starboard cabins. There is very roomy access to the engine from both sides. The aft (main) cabin is accessed through the port cabin. Well ventilated with four portholes, great cross flow of air. It features a double bed, a settee, large blanket drawer under berth, and plenty of hanging space. Forward past the dining area to the port is a large chart table and drawer with overhead storage. The head is located on the starboard. Further along is another cabin with v/berth.
