Swarbrick M9 Monohull - Cruiser / Club Racer
Location: Vincentia, NSW (On Hard Stand - Ready for Immediate Inspection)
Price: $6,900 ONO (Priced for a direct, straightforward sale due to ongoing health issues)
Description:
Originally from Fremantle this boat was a succesfull racer and was relocated to the east coast. I purchased this classic Swarbrick M9 for $8,000 and have spent considerable time and resources upgrading it. My goal was to configure it specifically as a highly manageable weekend sailer or a competitive day club racer that is incredibly easy to control. Due to ongoing health issues, I am unable to continue sailing, so the boat is now offered for sale. It is fully ready to be launched and sailed immediately.
My goal has been to refurbish and upgraded for easy control and handling.
Every deck and mechanical upgrade was systematically chosen to make the vessel incredibly clean and simple to operate:
Rigging: Standing rigging is in good order, paired with brand-new running rigging and modern Dyneema lifelines (lightweight and ultra-strong).
Cockpit Controls: Upgraded with forward outboard controls, allowing you to safely manage the engine throttle and gears directly from the helm without leaning over the transom.
Winches: 2 x Fully rebuilt self-tailing winches + 2 x reconditioned main winches for reliable, easy line handling.
Interior & Deck Condition (Full Disclosure):
Interior: Clean, basic, and completely dry. There are no active deck leaks, no mold, and no musty smells. (Final cabin liner and wiring details are being completed on-site over the coming fortnight).
Topsides: In good, solid order.
The Decks: The original teak-over-plywood deck had historical core rot. It has been patched from below and structurally reinforced where necessary to ensure total structural integrity underfoot. To halt any future water ingress, the entire exterior deck from the cockpit forward to the bow has been heavily sealed with a thick, commercial-grade grey waterproof membrane. It keeps the interior perfectly dry and is fully usable as-is.
Structural & Mechanical Upgrades:
Premium Hardware: Most deck bolts have been systematically replaced with standardised high-grade 316 stainless steel bolts, properly bedded with brand-new backing plates throughout
Engines: 5 hp Mariner quality outboard + your choice of both 3 hp Yamaha and electric motor for the tender.
Sails (Good Condition): Mainsail, Jib, Storm Sail, and Spinnaker (see photo of full inventory laid out on lawn).
Structural: Keel has been fully and professionally rebedded. Reinforced mast post & chainplates. Heavy-cast reinforced bow roller.
Extras: New electrical panels/wiring, flexible solar panel, various spares, new bolts, life jackets, and a lightweight fiberglass tender.
Inspection & Transport (Truck Ready):
The boat is stored on a hard stand in Vincentia. There are no slipway fees or divers required to view--you can walk right up and inspect the entire hull and rebedded keel immediately.
The owner will be on-site at the vessel completing final details over the next fortnight. Inspections are open and highly flexible starting from next weekend.
The vessel is truck-ready for immediate haulage via a standard 10-tonne tilt-tray. Estimated transport rates are highly affordable for regional buyers:
To Batemans Bay: Approx. $450 - $750
To Sydney: Approx. $825 - $1,200
All reasonable cash offers will be considered.
