Founded in 1973 in Kaohsiung, Southern Taiwan by Y. P. Chen, Ta Yang Yacht Building Co was a premier builder of handcrafted, bespoke, semi-custom yachts offering the highest quality, performance and timeless design at an unrivaled cost. The fitout of Carina was completed by local dealers in the US.
This seaworthy double ended Canadian design by Robert B Harris (US & Canadian designer - Sparkman & Stephens, a partner in the firm of Maclear & Harris, designer of the Vancouver series of cruising boats, and a pioneer in the world of multihulls. ) has been sailed from the US to Canada to the Caribbean and across the Pacific to Brisbane.
