Tradewind 33s are built for the toughest conditions, being a boat of choice for the Golden Globe Race is testament to this.
Da capo is a classic beauty, comparable to the build quality of a Swan.
She is a seakindly boat and a joy to sail with peace of mind knowing she is built and rigged to withstand the wildest conditions: 3 reefs in the main, staysail cutter setup with additional storm sails.
Hand lay-up fibreglass construction using vinylester resin means no osmosis and an encapsulated lead keel will withstand a grounding.
De Capo makes a good liveaboard. I solo skippered the Queensland coast over the years and found it very comfortable with everything I need.
Roomy for her length more comparable to a 38 footer with great headroom. She is very well insulated for the heat and cold making it also very quiet, if at a noisy marina or anchorage.
The dingy davit system is robust and exceptionally well built and access to the transom is very easy.
Her teak deck was removed and deck resurfaced with fibreglass at a cost of over $20k.
A bowsprit and larger headsail added to balance the sail configuration.
The Mercedes OM636 42 HP diesel engine is bulletproof and well serviced and comes with spares and tools.
Two separate autopilots, Raymarine and Pelagic, for redundancy.
She comes with a huge list of spare parts that will solve most problems should they ever arise and ongoing servicing requirements.
She has just had a new stainless forestay and dyneema backstays fitted with a full rig report - see PDF attachment.

Sail Inventory
Dacron main and furling Genoa ok condition.. Staysail on furler. Spinnaker. Twin joined headsails with poles. Storm sails. Main has three reefs.
Mast / Rigging
Cutter rig. Brand new Dyneema backstays and new stainless headstay recent rigging report by Peter Grieg.
Rest of dyneema rigging and staysail wire was replaced mid 2018. Receipt avaialable for insurance.

Deck Gear
Reefing and hoisting and lowering the mainsail are done at the mast. You can run the reefing lines and main halyard to the starboard winch on the coach roof as there are deck organisers and clutches there for that but I prefer this method.
The staysail lines run to the port and starboard coach roof winches - great setup.
Two very robust poles are mounted on the mast and used for the butterfly twin headsail when sailing on a broad reach or downwind. And for the symmetrical spinnaker.

Spare copper heat exchanger tube and housing, electrical panel for engine, fuel filters, alternator, starter motor, fuel line pump, various hoses, clamps, fuses, wires, filters, gaskets, engine belts, impellers, shackles, nuts and bolts all necessary tools and deck gear... Too much to list but everything one could need and more. Thousands of dollars worth of parts.
